Rani Macedo is a genealogist with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in History from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. He has been researching family histories for more than two decades, with a recent focus on the genealogy of Sephardic Jewish descendants.
He is the founder and curator of the YouTube channel Genealogia para Iniciantes (Genealogy for Beginners), where he shares research techniques and resources dedicated to genealogical studies.
Rani is an associate member of ASBRAP (Brazilian Association of History and Genealogy Researchers) and was a speaker at RootsTech 2025.
