My journey as a genealogist began in 2011 when I tried to answer what seemed like a simple question: did my great-grandfather help his cousins escape Europe just before the start of the Second World War? Along the path to answering this question, I found many distant relatives and relations by marriage that were drawn into the fold, to become part of a bigger story. It led to more searches, more questions, more knowledge, and eventually professional work in the field and a specialization in Holocaust-related research.
Genealogical research is as unique as each client is. Here are some examples of things I can work on:
-
Citizenship by descent.
-
Uncovering unknown parents, living relatives or ancestors using DNA testing.
-
Lineage society research.
-
Immigrant journeys or unknown ethnic origins.
-
Tree building or verification.
-
Visiting local cemeteries and archives (I’m in Maine and serve the wider New England region!)
-
Individual brick walls.
My work adheres to the Genealogical Standard of Proof. My clients and the work I conduct on their behalf remains completely confidential.
Many people feel overwhelmed before hiring a professional—don’t be. My goal is to make sure you find the answers you’re looking for and to help you understand more about your family and ancestry. Remember: knowing our origins is a basic human right.
A little more about me: Per my profile picture, I have appeared on Jeopardy!. I went to the “Great Books” college. I’m a mother. I live in Maine. I never met a soft serve ice cream cone I didn’t like. My day job is as an editor.
