I received two certificates (one advanced) in genealogy and graduated with a BA in 2023. I live in northern California, but I am very familiar with Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas and Oklahoma areas. However, I have also researched in Scotland and Great Britain quite a bit also. I look forward to help you with your research problems. I am not afraid of "brick walls" in research and love a good challenge!
I am currently a FamilySearch Coordinator for our library in Corning, California. I assist individuals with setting up accounts, getting them started on research, have beginner packets which include research logs/documents/pedigree/family group sheets to aid in their initial research. I am willing to perform research in the Sutro library in San Francisco, California, which is a very large repository of historical and genealogical data.
I provide:
- Cleanup (look for and remove duplicates) and validate data in existing personal RootsMagic information
- Upload data from online sites into RootsMagic for ease in printing pedigree charts, family group sheets, and publishing information
- Onsite research within northern California (Sacramento County and north).
- Coaching and help with initial 4-generation projects
- Consult on how to get past "brick walls" and "end of lines"
- Professional editing of written research reports (30+ years in government, genealogy and healthcare)
- Online (Zoom) classes for different areas of interest from beginners, tracking and organizing research materials.
I also assist families when they reach a "brick wall" or "end of line" on their research to determine what other areas they should search. If requested, I provide the work on their behalf.
