Dr. Kenneth T. Vick, II, is a tenth-generation Virginian with ancestral lineages tracing back to England and Wales. His immigrant ancestor, Joseph Vick, arrived in colonial Virginia in about 1669 and settled in the Lower Parish of Isle of Wight County, Virginia. As a youngster, he spent much of his time exploring his ancestral roots amongst Virginia’s Historic Triangle of Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown, which inspired academic studies of the colonial and federal eras of American history. His love of history and genealogy has fostered successful research of his patrilineal and matrilineal ancestries.

With two nicknames, “K.T.” or “Kenny,” has a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Old Dominion University, Norfolk, Virginia. He also has a master’s degree in project management with a concentration in Information Technology and a Doctor of Business Administration degree, both with high honors from Golden Gate University, San Francisco, California. He is a certified IAPCC genealogist. He is currently semi-retired as an adjunct professor of Information Technology and Decision Sciences at the Strome College of Business, Old Dominion University. Kenny is also a proud US Navy veteran, having honorably served as an Operations Specialist Petty Officer Second Class on board two destroyers, USS Davis (DD-937) and USS Conolly (DD-979).

K.T. now enjoys assisting others in their genealogical pursuits. Using historical methods, he works with clients to determine the scope of their family research, identifies and collects relevant source materials, analyzes those materials, and formulates research hypotheses to validate. At the end of each work package, K.T. works with his clients to interpret his research findings and to compose a narrative of the client’s family history. In between his genealogical pursuits, he enjoys living in the desert resort city of Palm Springs, California, with his life partner and two French bulldogs, Miss Daisy and Miss Lily.
