I have decades of experience in genealogy research, particularly Ashkenazi Jewish and New York City area ancestry. I also have experience in Italian, Polish, French-Canadian, African-American, German, and many other areas. I earned the Certificate in Genealogical Research from Boston University.
I can either do traditional research, where I research your family and write up a report with my findings; or we can meet over Zoom and I can help you learn how to find new pathways for your own research.
I can also help with DNA-related research.

I hired Tree of Life Genealogy to help me progress in my own research, and I was really impressed with the insights Hillary provided even in just a couple of sessions. Her expert knowledge of resources guided us to some sources I hadn't considered. She has expertise in Jewish history, traditions, and resources that proved invaluable to me. And she's a great teacher--she showed me how to employ methods of mapping DNA matches that I will be using for a long time to come. I really appreciated that she brought thoughtful ideas and research to the start of each session, and made time to answer my questions. She has a knack for organizing information in a useful way, which helped to stop me from going down too many rabbit holes! Her professionalism and follow-through were exceptional. I expect that I will be seeking her services repeatedly as I move forward in my work. Highly recommended!
