Carol is a professional genetic genealogist and leading researcher in the genetic genealogy community, specializing in the use of DNA to identify unknown biological family, contributors of DNA from violent crimes and John/Jane Does.  

Since 2014, Carol has helped hundreds of adoptees and others of unknown parentage to find their biological family. Since 2018, she has aided in the successful identification of over 65 suspects in violent crimes (both cold cases and active investigations), as well as John and Jane Does, for law enforcement agencies across the US and Canada. 

Additionally, Carol is a founding Board member of the Investigative Genetic Genealogy Accreditation Board, which has published Standards and a Code of Ethics for the field, as well as an exam to assess competency of practitioners.  

In 2015, Carol was part of the team who solved the widely publicized case of Paul Fronczak, who later published his story in a highly acclaimed book “The Foundling.” ​

Carol has completed the most advanced courses offered in the field of genetic genealogy, including: - Advanced DNA Practicum at CAFG 2015 & 2016 - Advance Genetic Genealogy at GRIP 2018.  Carol has also attended and instructed/presented at: - Institute for Genetic Genealogy (i4GG) conferences in 2017, 2018, 2020, 2022, 2023, 2024 & 2025 - Ramapo Investigative Genetic Genealogy Conference 2024


"The Foundling: The True Story of a Kidnapping, a Family Secret and My Search for the Real Me" by Paul Fronczak and Alex Tresniowski, includes details of Carol's work which lead to the identification of the biological family of Paul Fronczak, who was abandoned as a toddler.
