Bradley D. Marchant is a genealogist based near Indianapolis, Indiana with over 26 years of professional and personal genealogical experience. Bradley is the first genetic genealogist hired by the Indiana State Police to work in the Indianapolis State Crime Laboratory, providing leads for cold cases using Forensic Investigative Genetic Genealogy. He specializes in immigration research, complex evidence cases, and works in many languages.

Bradley is a "been there, done that" sort of genealogist. He has done behind the scenes research for The Generations Project (even appearing on camera in two episodes) as well as Who Do You Think You Are, A New Leaf and the Genealogy Roadshow. He worked for Ancestry Progenealogists on their International team, delivering many successful projects in Scandinavian, German, Italian and Filipino research. He has also been employed for FamilySearch working as a cataloguer and digital collections staff member. You might also recognize him from his time at the Family History Library (now known as the FamilySearch Library) in Salt Lake City where he worked on the Nordic desk, helping sometimes dozens of people a day in methodology and translation.

Bradley specializes in mostly international research, specifically in locating origins and building family trees. He has extensive experience in all Nordic countries (Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Finland), the British Isles, Portugal (80% success rate in locating immigrant origins from Madeira and the Azores!), and African American. Bradley is also quite fond of Italian and German research. Occasionally dabbling in other areas. Finding immigrants is his passion and then building those family trees. Bradley is also quite capable of using DNA to solve mysteries, including brick-wall, adoption, unknown parentage and immigrant cases. Bradley is a two-times adoptive parent who has successfully built family trees for his own children as well as other adoptees.

You might wonder where Bradley's business name originated... In May 2020, Bradley uprooted his family and moved to Indiana where he purchased an old Edwardian mansion named The Mustard Manor. Ever since then, he and his family have been renovating, restoring and researching the house. Someday, Bradley hopes to write a book about its history. Prince Otto of the Austro-Hungarian empire, Burl Ives, Carl Sandberg and James Whitcomb Riley have all been guests in his home, amongst others. Although, that was long before Bradley lived here!
