Amy Leavitt has been interested in genealogy ever since she was a child sitting on her grandmother's lap listening to old family stories. Her grandmother taught her how to transcribe old records and input the data onto a DOS computer (the old ones from the 80s with a black screen and green font).
A few years ago, after spending many years raising her children, she went back to school to finish her degree. In the Spring of 2020 she graduated with a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in family history. In addition, she earned the Family History Research Certificate and the Advanced Family History Research Certificate. She started Leavitt Genealogy in 2020.
In addition to 20 years of research experience as an amateur, she has also spent two years as a volunteer Family History specialist. In 2019 she worked as an intern for the Early British Census Project, with BYU Provo, which finds and transcribes pre-1841 British census records.
