Maria holds a bachelor's in Journalism, a master's in Leisure, Heritage, and Development, and is currently pursuing a master's in History specializing in the Early Modern period, all from the University of Coimbra, in Portugal. She is vastly experienced in researching Portuguese archives and skilled in paleography.

As a member of both APGEN and ASBRAP (Associação Brasileira de Pesquisadores de Historia e Genealogia), Maria collaborates with various institutions and companies for document retrieval. She is also geographically available for in-person research in the districts of Viseu, Coimbra, Guarda, Aveiro, and Lisbon.
