I started genealogical research into my own ancestry 15 years ago, digged 12 generations deep in Russian and Ukrainian archives and started talking about that to friends and colleagues. Somehow, since 2009 it turned into the full-time business, with three full-time employees, several published books, and working connections in archives in Russia. My business certification is that I'm a certified fraud examiner, and this gives all my genealogical research some detective flavor. Finding obscure documents in non-obvious places to solve the puzzle is my favorite. I also do probate and forensic consultations.
My other genealogical interest in addition to Russian Empire proper are in the Shanghai and Harbin of 1920s-1950s with its large Russian diaspora. I published the reasonably comprehensive surname index to Russian Chinese residents (Russians in China. Genealogical index (1926-1946), ISBN 978-1936531158, available on Amazon). Specialize in Greek Orthodox, Greek Catholic and Russian Orthodox church records. I am also the independent book publisher.
