Denyce has over twenty-five years experience in genealogy research, with over fifteen years experience as a professional researcher. She is a long-time member of the Association of Professional Researchers, National Genealogical Society, and several state and county societies in Kentucky and Ohio. Denyce is also a member of the heritage society, Sons and Daughters of the United States Middle Passage.
She is currently project director for the Kentucky United States Colored Troops research project.
Denyce has contributed research efforts to an episode of "Finding Your Roots", a PBS series hosted by Henry Louis Gates, Jr. She successfully completed the Midwest African American Genealogy Institute (MAAGI) writing course in 2018, the Institute for Genealogy and Historical Research course, "Advanced Methodology and Evidence Analysis" (2017), ProGen 31 Study program (2017), NGS Introduction to Genealogy: An Online Course, and home study, AMERICAN GENEALOGY: A Basic Course, and engages in continuing education through national and state conferences and independent learning through genealogical quarterlies and references.
Denyce also researched and authored an investigative study, "African American Settlement in Allen County, Ohio - through Census Schedules" that was published in the Ohio Genealogical Society Quarterly, Vol. 52 No. 3, Fall 2012

Research conducted for diverse client base in Southern and Midwest states, expanding to other states, Canada and the United Kingdom, as required. African American research is also a specialty. Experienced in record search and evidence analysis, transcription and abstraction of federal census, birth, death, marriage, probate, other court, and military records. Provide professional research reports including full source citations, family narratives, biographical summaries, and computerized database reports.
Denyce also provides genealogy lectures through live, onsite and online presentation venues. Her presentations include research methodology, case studies in cluster research, female ancestors, evidence analysis and more.
