In Japan, there is no official certification for genealogy research or family tree creation. While some providers display professional credentials such as judicial scrivener or administrative scrivener, using these credentials to request koseki (family registers) for genealogy purposes is illegal. Some genealogy service providers in Japan misuse professional credentials to obtain koseki documents. Obtaining koseki documents as a paid agent for clients is also illegal.
We assist clients in legally obtaining their own koseki documents and provide expert analysis and historical research. We do not engage in the illegal misuse of professional document request authority (職務上請求) practiced by some providers.
