My work is fascinating. However, once I explain the reason for my work and describe their family history to a level of detail only a skilled genealogist would know, they begin to understand why this work is so important.  Often, the heirs I contact have no idea this relative ever existed. Other times it's because of time, distance or estrangement the relationship has been lost.
