For an Austrian family line I learned to read basic details in Kurrent script. I pursued a BA degree in German to understand grammar, word order, and an accidental death by fruit tree. My studies included a summer course in Bavaria, followed by a week in the Bregenzerwald region of Vorarlberg, Austria. The research grew into two ongoing surname studies.

I enjoy providing document images from the FamilySearch Library for remote researchers. My reading skills include German, Italian, French, and Latin. I embrace tree-building projects, same-name tangles, and immigrant origins.

A previous career in the publishing industry developed my proofreading and formatting skills for print and web. I currently subscribe to Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office 365.
