Shannon Byers is the CEO and founder of NOKfinders which specializes in solving unclaimed person cases in the U.S. NOKfinders works with coroners, medical examiners, and funeral homes.
NOKfinders provide genealogy research to locate next of kin when a person dies. The goal is to prevent decedents from becoming unclaimed.
In many of these cases, authorities do not have time to locate next of kin. Aspiring forensic genealogists have the skills to make a difference and are working to solve these cases through our Academy.
