I am a Qualified Genealogist and founder of Heirloom Family Tree Services Limited, and I have been researching family history since 2003. I graduated with Distinction from the University of Strathclyde with an MSc in Genealogical, Palaeographic & Heraldic Studies in 2020, and I have worked as a professional genealogist ever since. I am a Member of the Register of Qualified Genealogists (RQG), and I also serve as one of its elected directors, contributing to the maintenance of the organisation’s academic, evidential, and ethical standards.

Irish Citizenship & Passports

I specialise in Irish citizenship applications by descent and Irish passport applications. I have completed many hundreds of successful foreign birth registration and passport applications. I guide clients from across the world through the process from initial research to final submission, assembling the required multi-generational documentation, sourcing civil and church records in Ireland and abroad, and resolving discrepancies in names, dates, and places. Particular care is often required where records are difficult to locate or where inconsistencies must be carefully evidenced and explained.

Family heirlooms

I’ve always been passionate about preserving genealogy for future generations and believe that genealogical research deserves to be presented in an extra special way. In addition to bespoke genealogical reports, I produce fully researched, sewn-bound Heirloom Narrative Books of approximately 200 pages. These professionally designed volumes present family histories in clear, structured narrative form, placing ancestors within their historical context while maintaining strict evidential accuracy.

In collaboration with a professional artist, I also create bespoke family trees based on verified research. Each tree is accurately constructed and professionally designed for presentation and long-term display.

I undertake bespoke research across the UK, working extensively with parish registers, probate records, and local archival sources to trace families in the region.

Highly recommended. Luke is excellent. Extremely clear, professional and efficient and gets the job done as quickly as is possible. As a fully qualified genealogist, he found long lost birth and death certificates for me that I was completely unable to locate myself, because that is his area of expertise! He completed all the paperwork for my children’s Irish Citizenship applications and sent absolutely everything we needed neatly labelled and with full instructions. All we had to do was arrange signatures and an appropriate witness. Perfect! Thank you 😊 Sarah

Luke helped me secure the addition of my late Irish birth father's name to my birth certificate. Having my Irish heritage officially recognised has meant a great deal to me, and this would not have been possible without Luke’s hard work, dedication and diligence. Matt

Luke has put together a fascinating and amazing looking book which we haven’t been able to put down, and he has found some fascinating tidbits about my ancestors and gone back much further than I had anticipated, discovering even royal connections! My mother was delighted to find so much information about her grandparents and great grandparents – who she knew so very little about. The way he has presented it is really impressive. Above all, it was a fantastic gift and well worth the money. Ella

Luke found what I'd spent years searching for, so was a great help tracking down Irish ancestry. Would throroughly recommend his services. Definitely knows his stuff. Michael
