As a very young girl, I started to reconstruct my family tree and, once I completed mine, I moved on to that of others. I have been working as a genealogist since 2021, when I decided to convert my passion for genealogy into a job.
I was born and raised in Sicily but I currently spend in the north west of Italy (Turin) most of my year. For that reason, it is like if I had a foot in each land: I can move from the Alps to a Sicilian beach over two days. Therefore, I specialized in genealogical research of both regions.
I do onsite research in Sicily, Piedmont and the surroundings areas, while when it comes to online research I can trace family histories all around Italy.
I have a degree in ancient History, and an education in creative writing: from this I have borrowed a personal way of seeing genealogy, which for me it is not just as a set dates but an investigation aiming at putting together the pieces of a family saga in order to uncover a story. For this reason, my research includes - whenever possible - documents such as passenger lists, letters, newspaper articles, transfers of ownership, city chronicles: in short, all those sources capable of making the past speak.
But how do my genealogical research work? When a client contacts me, we first discuss the preliminary information we have and the objectives of research, assessing whether they are feasible. The preliminary consultation is always free. After this phase, I will send a research plan detailing costs, timeframes, objectives, and research methodologies. Finally, I will send a PDF report documenting the work done, including images (and translations) of the documents found.
I am specialized in genealogical and historical research in the Italian regions of Sicily and and Piedmont.
