Genealogy is the perfect marriage of my two biggest passions, history and family. Since 2016 I have worked as a Freelance Genealogist working closely with clients to piece together their family stories and build their family trees. Using genealogical best practices, I use all available resources to ensure my client's goals and objectives are met. I also have a strong understanding of the connection between DNA evidence and its genealogical utility. This includes working knowledge of the skills and tools needed to reach accurate conclusions using DNA and genealogical research. In other words, if you are looking for a mystery parent, grandparent, or great grandparent, I can help!
I am also a Reference Associate at my local suburban Chicago library where I develop and present programs on various genealogy related topics to library patrons. I continue to create new tutorials that I share with other genealogy enthusiasts, and I am available to present these programs to other local libraries.
My expertise is in American research and records, from Colonial times to present, but I also have experience in French Canadian, Swedish and Latin American records. I have also spent considerable time in WWII era Jewish records, specifically in Poland and France.
From creating a paper trail to DNA analysis to using the most modern technological advances, I use every tool at my disposal to ensure the final product is as complete and accurate possible.

Testimonials
Testimonial #1
"I am sincerely grateful for Kristi's expertise and dedication in helping me uncover my family history. Through her skillful use of DNA research, she was able to identify several relatives I had never known, providing meaningful connections that have greatly enriched my understanding of my heritage.
Kristi also demonstrated exceptional diligence in locating places where my relatives once lived-many of which had been extremely difficult to trace. In addition, her research into individuals buried in a rural community cemetery helped bring an entire community from the late 1800s to early 1900s back to life, preserving stories that might otherwise have been lost to time.
Her attention to detail, professionalism, and genuine commitment to her work truly sets her apart. I highly recommend Kristi to anyone seeking thorough, thoughtful, and reliable genealogical research."
-Jennifer Thomas, Marshall, Arkansas
