Katy received her B.A. in Family History and Genealogy from Brigham Young University in 2014. She is currently the Director of Genealogical Services and Programs at the Historical Society of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
She previously worked for over seven years as a Senior Researcher and Editor with Legacy Tree Genealogists, where she completed over 100 research projects covering a broad range of topics and areas, in addition to providing peer review and editing on hundreds more.
Her specialties include biographies, immigration throughout the U.S. and British Commonwealth, Hispanic/Latin American research, African heritage research, Irish research, and the urban United States.
Raised in Texas, she is a descendant of German, Welsh, English, and Scots-Irish immigrants to the United States.
When not researching, Katy enjoys reading, snowboarding, hiking, travel, all things food, and music performance. She lives in Philadelphia.
