Jenny Rappaport is the Head Genealogist at the Center for Jewish History's Ackman & Ziff Family Genealogy Institute. Her genealogical research has been featured on the Emmy-nominated television program, Treasures of New York: Center for Jewish History, as well as on CBS News New York, and in the documentary, Family Recipe: Jewish American Style. Her research has also been profiled in both The Forward and eJewishPhilanthropy.
She holds a BA in Creative Writing from Carnegie Mellon University, and is a graduate of Boston University’s Genealogy Practicum. She specializes in the 19th and 20th century genealogy of Jewish families that lived in both the former crownland of Galitzia and Congress Poland, as well as the 19th and 20th century genealogy of Jewish families in the United States.
In addition to her genealogical work, her short fiction has been published in multiple magazines, including Nature and Lightspeed Magazine.
She is available for speaking engagements and educational opportunities, as well as taking on a limited number of private clients.
