Our philosophy is that family history is a treasure.  Knowing more about your family's past provides a unique perspective and enriches the present.  We believe that family research should be affordable to all and work with our clients to keep it affordable within their means. We charge $68/hr in an effort to make this accessible for more people.

The Formidable Genealogist was created in 2017 by two tenacious Midwestern women with a love of solving the mysteries of family histories and preserving the memories of our ancestors.

My business partner and I use the skills that have been developed through years of thorough research and practice.  We help our clients discover more about their families, build or expand their family tree, find biological family through DNA and preserve the information and images at risk of disappearing forever.

I am a contributing genealogist to the Know Your Ancestors podcast. This link will take you to the YouTube page for the podcast if you enjoy video. You can also find it anywhere that you listen to podcasts.

We also sell Family Tree Art so that you can display your research or create personalized gifts for family members. I also make family tree jewelry. These can be purchased from us directly or through Etsy.

I teach adult Community Ed classes in the Twin Cities area and virtually. See my schedule and offerings at this link. https://www.theformidablegenealogist.com/events

I am close to a Family History Library to view locked Family Search Catalog records. I am also nearby to the Minnesota Archives and can go on site for clients. I also have access to Norwegian Bygdeboker. My business partner also has extensive knowledge of Amish and Mennonite research.
