Janelle Asselin edits historical fiction for children by day and works on genealogy by night. After over a decade of researching her own family tree and obsessing over brick walls, she shifted to gaining a professional education in hopes of helping herself and others. With more than 15 years of experience in digging through historical records and understanding a family's narrative, Janelle is now currently more than halfway through the National Genealogical Society's Advanced Skills in Genealogy course and is constantly attending webinars to increase her genealogy education. She chairs the marketing committee for the Irish Genealogical Society International, putting decades of social media and marketing knowledge to use, and is a board member for the American-Canadian Genealogical Society. A native Midwesterner who has lived all over the United States and currently calls Wisconsin home, Janelle is primarily of Irish, Scottish, and French-Canadian descent.

Currently, I am taking clients for document retrieval, writing, and presentation work, and can write or present on topics ranging from writing and editing to Midwestern and Canadian history to managing and caring for family photo collections.
