I have been researching my family and my wife's family since the late 1980's. My research travel has taken me to California, the District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, Ohio, Vermont, Virginia, and Texas. My research on these African-American ancestors has taken me as far back as the mid 1700's in some cases. My research has been aided by the use of multiple software programs, such as Family Tree Maker, online sources such as Ancestry.com, and Archive Libraries.
