Craig Harman is the professional genealogist behind Branch and Root Genealogy. A graduate of Princeton University and Brigham Young University, Harman holds a Certificate in Genealogical Research from Boston University.

Harman caught the genealogy bug, when, while researching his own family in the late 1990s, he uncovered a case of an unknown father, a wrong ethnicity, a disappearing couple, and a forgotten lineage that led back to a village in Alsace, France.

Harman specializes in US (Mid-Atlantic, New England), Canada, French, and German research in both documents and DNA. Alongside his native English, Harman speaks and reads French and German fluently and is competent in Italian, Dutch, Spanish, and some Latin.

Harman is available for in-person and online consultation for document- and DNA-based research, genealogy translations and transcriptions, and lectures and classes in Greater Hartford, Connecticut.
