I am a New Jersey-based professional genealogist specializing in African American family history research. I help individuals and families uncover their roots, break through genealogical brick walls, and preserve their ancestors' stories for future generations.

My research expertise includes African American genealogy, the Great Migration, New Jersey Black history, African American cemeteries, Civil War pension records, and the creation of richly documented ancestral narratives that place family histories within their broader historical and social context. I have extensive research experience in Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, New Jersey, and New York.

In addition to my client work, I have served as President and Vice President of the New Jersey Chapter of the Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society (AAHGS) and co-hosted Speak On It! History and Genealogy Conversations with Janice and Cherekana, a podcast dedicated to genealogy, history, and family storytelling.
