Barbara Jean May is a Pennsylvania family history research specialist. Barb has been researching her personal genealogy since 1985. She has experience with researching Polish and German genealogy, and a focus on the SE region of Pennsylvania, and the tri-state area of PA, NJ, and DE. Barb has done multiple genealogy research projects for others and is currently conducting a One Name Study on the Polish surname, Kotlarek (https://thekotlarekproject.org/). Barb is a member of The Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War, Tent #58. She is the co-founder of a local genealogy interest group, Lower Bucks Genealogists, formed in 2008. In November, 2020, Barb started her own genealogy-based podcast, Heritage Hunters (youtube.com/@2heritagehunters). In March 2023, Barb was inspired to document women in her genealogy, on a website called Ladies in Our Lineage (https://ladies-lineage.com), where users may add biographies and photos of women in their families who they don’t want forgotten to time. She has a special love for maps and finding ways to utilize them in her genealogy.
