Based in Brooklyn, NY, Adam Gelman is a professional genealogist and heir searcher with over ten years of experience. A specialist in Ashkenazi and Sephardi Jewish research, he has extensive experience working with dozens of clients coming from a wide variety of family backgrounds, including African-Americans, Latin Americans, those with roots across the European continent, and individuals from Oceania, Asia, and Africa.

Adam earned a dual bachelor’s degree in History and Anthropology from Brandeis University, a Certificate in Genealogical Research from Boston University, and a master’s degree in Jewish Studies from Columbia University. His M.A. thesis focused on the Sephardi Jewish history of Tangier, Morocco, in the inter-war period.

"Adam Gelman is an incredibly talented genealogist and researcher. With very little to go on, he discovered stunning and revelatory information about my ancestors in America and Eastern Europe, and unlocked stories that our family knew nothing about. The report he prepared was beautifully written, detailed, and thoughtful. He gave us nothing short of a priceless heirloom which we will treasure for years to come. I cannot recommend him highly enough." - Lynn Novick

"Adam is an absolute pleasure to work with ? he is a very kind person who clearly loves what he does. His enthusiasm for his work is contagious, and his ability to not only conduct fundamental research but also weave together what he discovers into a compelling family story is extremely impressive." - Eric Schorr
