regarding our discussions of abbreviations... Christine Rose's book has a  
list of truncated and superscripted names: John, James, Joseph, Jerome,  etc.
In a message dated 3/8/2011 11:22:43 A.M. Central Standard Time,

not find anything.  I seen to  remember a TV show having a character that
