[APG Public List] IL Marriage Question

My husband's 3rd great grandparents were married in Paris, Edgar County, Illinois, in 1845. I will scan and send you a copy of the page in the marriage register that lists their marriage.
In 2000 I went to the Edgar County courthouse in person to find their marriage record. The Edgar County Historical Society had compiled an index to the oldest marriage registers, as well as the marriage license returns. I found their marriage in the index and asked the clerk if I could see the record. She got the book, which covered marriages from 1823 - 1857, but told me I could not touch it because of its age and condition. She let me look, but not touch. The marriage record only includes name of bride and groom, date of marriage, and an identification number written in later.
The book of marriage license returns was stored in the basement and she said it was not accessible. There was one worker who sometimes would go find what was requested when she had time. I requested that she do this, and followed up several weeks later with a letter. Ten years later, I am still waiting for her to have time to do this. However, the index was said to have all the information that was on the marriage license returns, which was only name of bride and groom, name of officiant, date of marrage, and book and page number. Still, I would like to see the return, just in case........
Hope this helps you,

Subject: [APG Public List] IL Marriage Question

Dear friends
I am about to request a copy of a marriage from Edgar County, IL for the year 1850. Does anyone know if I will get more information on this document other than the names of the groom, bride, and the officiating party, i.e. minister, justice of the peace, etc?
I will hold off expending these funds if that is all I might get on this document. If anyone has ordered a mid-nineteenth century marriage license of IL and can scan me a copy I would love to see the information received.
