Your citation will vary on how this information is compiled by 
you...report? oral history? research notes?
Perhaps typing this story and other recollections of what was told to 
you into a single document and giving it a title may help you figure how 
to cite this into the family project. You are the source working from 
you recollections so you can probably handle this instance in a few 
ways. Just remember to be consistent.
