Association of Professional Genealogists Presents 2013 Golden Chapter Award to North Carolina Chapter

LAS VEGAS, Nev. and WESTMINSTER, Colo., 8 May 2013- Today at the 2013 National Genealogical Society (NGS) Family History Conference, the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG®) announced that it has named the North Carolina APG Chapter the winner of the 2013 Golden Chapter Award.

"Congratulations to the North Carolina APG Chapter for this very well-deserved recognition," said APG Vice President Kimberly Powell, who presented the award at an APG chapter gathering yesterday evening. "This chapter has made great strides in using technology to improve member communication and outreach to the public."

The chapter has held several educational webinars and networking events throughout the year, including virtual options to increase involvement of members throughout the state. APG also recognizes the chapter’s excellence in professional development activities for members and in promoting the chapter and its members at the state and national level.

APG would also like to give honorable mention to the following for noteworthy activities and achievements:
