Brasia Genealogy

Summary Tab
Extended Tab

Bart Aerssens (1957) is a genealogist in the Netherlands with roots in Belgium. Bart has broad experience as a scientist, biologist, business analyst, project manager, independent consultant, photographer and graphic designer. Considering his previous professional career, becoming a genealogist was not an obvious choice. However, fighting cancer changed Bart's view on life, and at the same time, it changed his view on his past. Searching for a potential explanation he started looking into heredity and genetic relations. In a short time this study evolved into an extensive family tree research project focussing on many more aspects than purely genetic factors. More importantly it got this ball rolling. In recent years, research projects have been carried out, not only for people in the Netherlands, but for people from all over the world helping them to find their Dutch and/or Belgian ancestors.
