Biography:
I am an American research librarian and genealogy professional living and working in Florence, Italy. My passion for genealogical research has deep roots, grounded in Quaker heritage that extends back 10 generations to 17th-century England. Quakers are notorious keepers of family history... As a result of living in Italy since 1981, my professional work as a genealogist has focused primarily on helping North Americans of Italian ancestry reconnect with their Italian heritage. Genealogical research in Italy is rarely easy. The genealogist is confronted with a unique set of challenges for historical, political, geographical, and bureaucratic reasons. But that makes the discoveries all the more exciting, when the missing links to a person's past are ultimately found.

Service Description:
To begin a project, I carry out approximately 4 hours of initial research at a flat fee based on the information provided by the client. After this initial assessment, I charge an hourly rate for further research. All fees and terms of service will be communicated to and agreed upon with the prospective client before starting a project. There is no obligation to continue at any time.
