RaNae S. Vaughn

Rana Genealogy

Summary Tab
Extended Tab

RaNae Vaughn opened up a genealogy business in Edina, Missouri, to assist clientele in searching for their ancestry. She finished the Boston University's Genealogy Research Certificate Program. RaNae became interested in genealogy in 1999 when she began to assist her father with some of his research on his ancestry. Little did she know that the genealogy bug would strike her! She has traipsed through abandoned cemeteries, edited several books, and even written a few. RaNae has over 25 years of diversified experience in librarianship, records and document management, and the process of obtaining, retrieving, and providing information for business and research dissemination. Her library expertise includes the various responsibilities of a special librarian within a Federal corporation, a university librarian with weekend and evening supervisory responsibilities, and a special librarian of a historical society. Before she moved to Missouri in 2018, RaNae was actively involved as a local historian, compiling historical data in northeast Mississippi, and actively and effectively assisting in the development of the county's historical museum for 10 years. She single-handedly set up a genealogical library in the county museum, and her expertise includes historical and cultural research, museum collections assessment, library collections and archives management, and heritage tourism development. RaNae has excellent interpersonal skills, coupled with a strong commitment to customer service. She has the ability to communicate and interact effectively, verbally and in writing, with all levels of personnel. RaNae is also a skilled organizer, administrator, and public speaker.
