Two things have always been part of my life: A passion for research and a need for family history. When I was introduced to ancestry research about 15 years ago it felt like I had just come home. I now hold a Certificate from Boston University's Center for Professional Education in Genealogical Research. For many years, my career has been in the field of medical research, first at the lab bench and later in clinical (human) trials. I mention this because developing research strategies for medical research is identical to developing effective genealogical research strategies. Just like in medicine, genealogy requires efficient and thorough research, implementation of analytical skills, and fully cited, accurate, readable documentation of the findings. Genealogy Research Highlights As a life-long researcher, I ve amassed vast experience managing databases and performing effective in-depth research. My professional genealogical training provides me with the knowledge and skills to perform quality research, while the Board of Certified Genealogists (BCG) Genealogy Standards provides me the frame within which I work. My expertise enables me to successfully identify ancestors as far back as available resources and records go. Careful analysis of the facts given in those records, interlaced with historical context, sets the stage for creative non-fictional stories to magically unfold.
