I am a professional genealogist, teacher, author, and speaker. I have fifteen years of research experience and hold a credential for genealogy research through the International Commission for the Accreditation of Professional Genealogists (ICAPGen). My area of expertise is the United States Gulf South Region which includes Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. I graduated from Brigham Young University Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors degree in Education. A lifelong learner and educator I combine my passion for teaching and genealogy in numerous ways. I enjoy speaking at conferences and teaching youth and adults how to find their family. I am the creator of the Research Like a Pro study group and the author of Research Like A Pro: A Genealogist's Guide. I have helped many extend their pedigrees and solve family history mysteries. I am currently serving as the presentation specialist for ICAPGen, educating genealogists in the accreditation process. I co-write the popular blog, Family Locket, where I share research tips as well as ideas for creating and sharing family history. I am the principal researcher for Family Locket Genealogists.
