Biography:
I am a qualified professional genealogist based near Edinburgh, Scotland with over 20 years experience of researching Scottish and English family history. My research at the major Scottish archives, including the National Records of Scotland and National Library, and local archives and museums throughout central Scotland, combined with skills in reading old handwriting and knowledge of Scots terms, can help take your genealogy search beyond the sources available online. In addition to extensive experience, I hold a Masters in Genealogical Studies from the University of Strathclyde (awarded with distinction) for my research into bigamy in Victorian Scotland. The same genealogical expertise combined with language skills also enable me to offer an Estonian genealogy research service for those who wish to discover more about their ancestors who left Estonia in the late 19th and early 20th century.

Service Description:
Many people around the world enjoy discovering their family history and reconnecting with their Scottish heritage. There may come a time when a professional genealogist can provide particular skills, access to archives because you live far away from where the records are held or a fresh approach to highlight new avenues for your research. If you would prefer to discover your Scottish roots by browsing the finished article rather than taking up the research yourself, consider our flexible complete family history report service. Professional genealogists based outside Scotland or at distance from Edinburgh may also wish to consider our document services for record retrieval or handwriting transcription. Researching Estonian genealogy requires not only genealogical expertise but also language skills since, not surprisingly, the records are mainly in Estonian, Russian or German. If your family s Estonian and Russian language knowledge has become a little rusty over the generations, I can provide an initial on-line research service for those interested in their Estonian roots.
