Biography:
I am a professional genealogist from Eden Prairie, Minnesota. I have a master's degree in history, a past career as a researcher and writer at several major museums, and more than a decade of genealogical research experience. A few years ago, I learned I had been conceived with the sperm of an anonymous donor. After taking a DNA test, I was able to reconstruct my blank paternal family tree and identify the donor. I now help other people research their unknown ancestry, whether unknown birth parents or immigrant ancestors from centuries ago.

Service Description:
I work with clients from beginner to advanced. My services fall into three broad but related categories. 1) Solving cases of adoption, sperm donation, adultery, illegitimacy, and other instances where immediate ancestors are unknown. 2) Traditional genealogy research. I have previous experience with many Midwestern ethnic groups: French-Canadian, Irish, Czech, Norwegian, Swedish, German, Dutch, Yankee, Dakota, Ojibwe, and Metis. 3) Writing and editing. Before becoming a genealogist, I worked as an editor at a regional history museum. I now work with clients to help make their family history stories live and breathe. Finally, I am available to present lectures, conference sessions, and workshops. Topics include researching with DNA or researching certain Midwestern ethnic groups. And I am always happy to tell my own story of searching for my biological father.
