Meryl Schumacker is an award-winning professional genealogist and expert in New York City family history research. She has lectured at the Tenement Museum in New York City, and her work has been published in the peer-reviewed journal, The New York Genealogical and Biographical Record. She earned her Certificate in Genealogical Research from Boston University and completed continuing education at the Institute of Genealogy and Historical Research (IGHR) in Athens, Georgia. She was the recipient of the Walter Lee Sheppard Jr. Prize and the Association of Professional Genealogists' Young Professionals Scholarship in 2017.
