Expedition Genealogy

Biography:
My father first got me interested in our family history in the 1980's, a project we undertook together for years. I took up genealogy in earnest before my first trip to Ireland in 2007. I have traveled to four European countries and at least ten states for the purposes of furthering my genealogical quest. With a B.A. in anthropology, I have studied kinship patterns and worked several Forensic Anthropology cases during my undergraduate years. Also, I worked for a private investigator (pre-internet!), helping locate missing persons for various civil and criminal cases. After earning a degree in Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) and a successful clinical career, I decided to follow my bliss and focus on building a career in professional genealogy. Successfully completing the Boston University Certificate Program in Genealogy, I launched Expedition Genealogy in 2017. My special areas of interest include Irish immigration, Jewish immigration to the U.S. (especially to the south, southwest, and west), and the Midwest/Great Plains and Arizona. When not putting sticky notes on a wall to figure out relationships or plodding through cemeteries, I enjoy agility with my beagles, sewing, running and travel. Affiliations and memberships: West Valley Genealogical Society, the Irish Cultural Center/McClelland Cultural Center, and the Arizona Jewish Heritage Center/Plotkin Jewish Heritage Center, the National Genealogical Society and the Association of Professional Genealogists. I serves as Adjunct Faculty at Midwestern College of Osteopathic Medicine, Glendale, Arizona.
