Biography:
I founded Merlin Genealogy Solutions in 2009 and since that time have undertaken a variety of projects of differing size and complexity as well as giving talks and presentations on genealogy topics. I have been researching family history now for over 14 years and in the early days; I researched for family and friends, learning from each project. The demand for my skills and knowledge grew at such a rate that I decided in 2009 that the time was right to turn my passion into a professional service. A project management background complimented my research and record keeping, which enabled me to bring skills in administration, organisation, data analysis, logic and a rigorous attention to detail to each project. One benefit I bring to clients is an innovative and creative approach for each new project, looking at the bigger picture, which often provides a richer result for clients than they anticipated. I am a member of several family history organisations, including Society of Genealogists, Heir Hunters Association and Family History Societies.

Service Description:
Merlin Genealogy Solutions offers a genealogical research service tailored to the requirements of individuals and corporate clients. Commissions are designed to be flexible and can be purchased as a single commission or added to over time. Interim results (when requested) and completed research can be presented in a variety of ways including electronically to suit the client. Commissions vary but have included an entire family, an individual, specific question/query relating to a family /family member, problem solving, lookups in archives and record offices, and special occasion projects. Fees include for a review of any research undertaken by the client, Merlin Genealogy Solutions research strategy recommendations, active research (online/record offices and archives), report writing and if applicable suggestions for future research. Travel and other expenses for example, purchase of certificates wills, photography permits or copy documents are billed at cost. In addition I am also available to conduct talks, presentations or workshops for business, social and community groups. Experience shows that in order to get the results clients require, we needed to work in partnership. Clients are regularly kept up-to-date with progress on findings to make sure we are heading in the right direction towards what they are looking for. Sometimes research takes us in new directions so our rigorous approach of consultation means there are no/limited hidden surprises in the outcome. Clients take me all across the UK and some require distant research overseas. Located in Surrey and ideally placed to undertake research in London and the surrounding counties. Visits to other UK archives are also undertaken when necessary. Please feel free to contact me to discuss your specific requirements with you.
