French Connections L.L.C.

Summary Tab
Extended Tab

Born in a small medieval village in Belgium, I grew up in the French culture and am very familiar with the uniquely French records (Etat-Civil, Notaires, Marine, Eglise Catholique, DOMTOM, etc...). I graduated from college in 1975 with a B.A. in Education. I worked for 15 years as a teacher in Belgium, England, Louisiana and also traveled extensively throughout Europe , Canada, and the United States. I did my graduate work in Montessori Education at the Houston Montessori Center in Texas and in 1989 completed my Montessori certification. In 1991, I joined the Calcasieu Public Library System where I worked as a Reference librarian (general research) and later as a researcher at the Southwest Louisiana Historical and Genealogical library. During that time period I also translated genealogy documents and books from French to English; in 2007 I published a translation of "Notre ancetre : Jean Baillargeon". I created indices and historical timelines for various works. I started free-lance work in 2013, co-authoring the book "Until you are dead, dead, dead" with journalist Jim Bradshaw (published in November 2014 by the University Press of Mississippi). I am currently researching new topics for the publication of another book about Louisiana history.
