Emma Whaley Compton

Emma Whaley Compton is a graduate of the National Institute for Genealogical Studies, earning a Professional Learning Certificate in Genealogy Studies (PLCGS) in the English and American Record Certificate Programs. She also holds a certificate from Boston University's Online Genealogical Research Certificate Program and is a graduate of the ProGen 25 Study Group. A member of the Association of Professional Genealogists and National Genealogical Society, she started her own genealogy business, AncesTreeFinder Genealogy Research in 2015. Originally from England and now living in Lakeland, Florida, Emma enjoys researching in English, Scottish and American records, focusing on the 19th and 20th century time periods. She's also done some work in the forensic genealogy field, which has lead to her developing skills to search for living people as well as long dead ancestors. This variety of working with records for different countries and time periods, along with a fondness for playing detective, means there s always a new challenge and genealogical mystery for her to solve.
