Michelle D. Novak holds a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and is a former Board Member and Treasurer of the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA), NY Chapter. In 1997 she founded [MND], a brand design firm that creates materials for financial services and non-profits. MND s clients include Barclays, Haverford Trust, Clinton Global Initiative, City Harvest, Drexel Morgan, St. Francis College, Visiting Nurse Association Health Group of New Jersey, The Wendy Williams Show, SEI, and the New Genealogical and Biographical Society (NYG&B). For GSNJ, she is Chair and Project Administrator for the New Jersey Early Land Records Project (, Layout Editor of GSNJ Newsletter, and a member of the Publicity, Website, and Automation Committees. The New Jersey Early Land Records Project, will contribute funds for an initiative currently underway at the New Jersey State Archives to process, conserve, and index more than 80,000 land records most which were practically inaccessible to researchers and in private hands. For GSBC, she serves as Chairperson of the Social Media Committee, Editor of the GSBC s award-winning (ISFHWE and NGS) quarterly newsletter, The Archivist. She is involved, for both, with numerous website, transcription, and digitization projects. Currently an MI (formerly MLIS) student at Rutgers University.
