Bucks Heritage Research
I have been involved in genealogical and local history research for over fifteen years and set up Bucks Heritage Research in 2009 to provide a research service for those who need help to pursue their ancestral heritage in the English county of Buckinghamshire. My qualifications include a BA in Humanities (Major subject-History) with the Open University; the Advanced Undergraduate Diploma in Local History (Oxford University) and most recently in 2012 the MSc in Genealogical, Palaeographic and Heraldic Studies (University of Strathclyde). Before embarking on a career as a Professional Researcher I worked in the Accounting industry as the Book-keeper for a property management company in Buckinghamshire. Book-keeping and Accounting requires thoroughness and great attention to detail and these are skills which have readily transferred to the field of genealogical research. My main personal historical interests are the late medieval period through to the end of the seventeenth century in England, and nonconformity in my home county of Buckinghamshire. I belong to various local and national historical societies: the Bucks Archaeological Society, the Bucks Family History Society, the John Hampden Society and the Richard III Society to name just a few.
Bucks Heritage Research provides a research service mainly in the English county of Buckinghamshire. However, this inevitably extends the research in to the neighbouring counties. In addition to travelling to the Archives and Historical Repositories in Buckinghamshire, I am also willing to travel to those in the neighbouring counties of Bedfordshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire. Also, to enhance the overall geographical area covered by Bucks Heritage Research I also have membership of several online databases and can easily access records such as the English census returns 1841 to 1911, baptisms, marriages and burials for London parishes, military records, BMD Indexes and Passenger Lists to name just a sample. Research is ultimately led by the information requests of the client so please enquire and I will see if I can help. I am also willing to take photographs of those special family history locations, if accessible.
