Michelle B. Fontaine
Connections Research, LLC
Michelle has been researching family history since she was a child. In the 70s, she scrolled through microfilm at the Family History Center looking through un-indexed shipping records for immigrant ancestors; in the 80s, she visited family burial grounds in melon fields and a Norman church in Somerset, England, finding records of family members. More recently, Michelle has been working on documenting all of her family members back to their countries of origin. Many of her ancestors settled in Massachusetts in the 1600s and 1700s; others came to Rhode Island, Maine, upstate New York, and the Carolinas. This quest has led her to research in various places including the Massachusetts Archives, NEHGS, the South Carolina Historical Society, the DAR Library, and the Hesburgh Library at Notre Dame.
Michelle enjoys coaching others on learning how to conduct reliable genealogical research, evaluating sources, and finding and organizing information; she can help you get started with your research. Michelle also enjoys conducting research and can do targeted look-ups local to the Washington, DC Metro area.
