Biography:
Debbie Kroopkin is currently the President of the Jewish Genealogical Society of Illinois. She has explored her family history for over two decades and now conducts research for others. She has discovered her family origins in Ukraine, Poland and Belarus. Debbie has traced her clients families to towns in these countries, as well as Lithuania, Moldova, and Romania. She uses databases on the Internet as well as archives and libraries to uncover family stories of immigration to the U.S. and migration patterns throughout the United States. She retrieves documents including vital records, tombstone images, ship manifests, naturalization papers, newspaper articles, census record and obituaries. She has recently spoken for the Wisconsin Historical Society and the Illinois State Genealogical Society.

Service Description:
My genealogy research process typically involves identifying client goals, developing a tree based on information known by the client, conducting research to fill in missing branches and information, and providing documents and reports. I have worked with short- and long-term clients, clients who have conducted their own research prior to hiring me, clients who have no prior genealogy experience, and clients who want in-depth research. Several clients have requested three-ring binders that include tree reports, pictures, and documents. I have created 2 hard-cover self-published books, and a poster board, suitable for hanging, comprised of three descendant charts. I am enjoying public speaking and helping others.
