Biography:
Debbie Kroopkin is currently the President of the Jewish Genealogical Society of Illinois, having served on the board for over six years. She started conducting research for others eight years ago after working on her own family history for 20 years. For ten years, she worked as a nonprofit administrator on behalf of homeless individuals, facilitating meetings and workshops across organizations, developing collaborative programming, and writing grants. She served on the boards of her synagogue and choir in roles including treasurer, librarian, and grant writer.

Service Description:
My genealogy research process typically involves identifying client goals, developing a tree based on information known by the client, conducting research to fill in missing branches and information, and providing documents and reports. I have worked with short- and long-term clients, clients who have conducted their own research prior to hiring me, clients who have no prior genealogy experience, and clients who want in-depth research. I am currently working on a second hard-cover family book for a client. Several clients have requested three-ring binders that include tree reports, pictures, and documents.
