I am a professionally-qualified genealogist and family historian with many years' research experience. I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Genealogical Studies from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, and have wide knowledge of the many records which can bring your ancestors vividly to life. My own forebears came from many different parts of Scotland, while my husband's family roots are English. I have also researched records from numerous other countries, including the United States, Canada, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and India.

Service Description:
I offer family history research and photographic services from my base in the heart of lowland Scotland. If you want to trace your ancestors; if you'd like to see where they were born, lived and died; if you'd love to find out just how Scottish your roots are, I can help. Located within easy reach of archives, libraries and other document repositories throughout central and southern Scotland, I can trace your ancestors in the numerous statutory and unofficial records they left behind. I can also help you understand Scotland's geography, the civil and religious bodies which influenced your ancestors' lives and the legal terms and Scots words which appear in old documents. All services are provided to your specification, from one crucial nugget of information to a multi-branched family tree. I also carry out lookup and transcription services for records which have not been digitised or are not available online because of a time-bar period. I can take photographs of gravestones, churches, schools, houses and other locations which touched the lives of your forebears. If you don't have the time or are too far away to do your own research, or if you've been digging away but have hit a brick wall, I can do the work for you. I provide in-depth, professional research, resulting in fascinating insights into the lives of your forebears. Throughout the research period, I am in regular contact with you to ensure that the resulting report meets your personal requirements.
