Biography:
Genealogical and family historical research in the state of Oklahoma and far beyond its borders for future generations. For those of us who have developed an interest in genealogy and history as we have aged, its time to pass on our knowledge and expertise to the 'next generations'. But as we teach, so must we also learn. My oldest son and his wife, helped my grandson (who was 10 years old in 2012) create an unusual and very interesting diorama, using a baseball diamond model, to tell the story of the McCoy family and the Treguboff family. What a unique way to bring the stories of two families together! The Oklahoma Genealogist is dedicated to researching, learning, sharing, teaching, and publicizing all genealogical material that helps to move the next generation(s) into being interested in their own family histories, even as they go about their busy daily lives. . The Oklahoma Genealogist trains other Genealogists and researchers who have the information, the knowledge, and the desire to share their expertise, but who may lack the needed public speaking skills. As a former member of Toastmasters, the Oklahoma Genealogist is able to facilitate the development and improvement of speaking/presentation skills. Additionally, The Oklahoma Genealogist has an interest in learning, sharing, teaching, and publicizing any materials regarding the cultures, ceremonies and histories of the Native Americans of Oklahoma and throughout the United States.
