I am a professional genealogist based in Scotland who holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Genealogical Studies from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow. I have been involved in researching genealogy for over 12 years. I have an extensive background in the education sector and provide a variety of training courses in genealogy, as well as speaking at a number of events. I have a particular interest in the applications of technologies to assist in genealogical research.
I am a member of a number of genealogy societies and organisations including the Association of Professional Genealogists, the Scottish Genealogy Society, the Society of Genealogists and West Lothian Family History Society.
I am also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA) and am currently a tutor on a range of genealogy and family history courses at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland.
Ancestral Consultants is based in central Scotland and we are therefore able to travel to a number of archives to consult a vast range of records.This includes access to the records in the National Registers of Scotland (previously the General Register Office for Scotland) at New Register House in Edinburgh, together with those held in what was previously known as the National Archives for Scotland.
We have undertaken a great deal of research over the years using a range of sources and although we specialise in undertaking research in Scottish family history, we are also able to conduct research in other countries.
Ancestral Consultants provides a range of professional services including tracing family trees and undertaking research in house histories.
Our experience in technology and education provides a range of skills and expertise in the development and delivery of a wide range of training opportunities, including individual consultations and online group training courses. We also provide ancestral themed breaks at a number of venues across Scotland.
